ABOUT

About Employment

Education is important to Bangladesh.  As the country’s rapid economic development proceeds, the demand grows for more technical expertise and for skilled professionals to guide its modernization.   Canada and Bangladesh have a strong ties in educational partnerships.  CISB was the first of the “Canadian” schools here, and we continue to offer Canadian curriculum education to our students from Kg to Grade 12.  We are also a candidate school to become an International Baccalaureate World School, offering the Diploma Program to Grade 11 and 12 students beginning in 2022.  We strive to meet the needs of all our students, both academically and socially, preparing them to achieve their own goals socially and personally.  Improving Bangladesh by improving ourselves is our motivation.  Teachers should have Teacher training and be willing to achieve appropriate Canadian Provincial certification during their first year of employment.  Those interested in the I.B. program will need to follow online professional development on the International Baccalaureate website.

CISB is accepting applications for all teaching and administrative positions from Internationally certified teachers.

WELCOME TO BANGLADESH

A nation of more than 160 million people, Bangladesh is nestled between India and Myanmar and a short flight to most South Asian countries. The capital city of Bangladesh, Dhaka, is a tapestry of high-rise apartments and bustling marketplaces peppered with parks and gardens. The capital’s diverse modes of transport, ranging from luxury cars to rickshaws, weave throughout the city from dusk til dawn making living in Dhaka unique.

The country, which is predominantly Muslim, is also home to people from 15 different ethnic minority groups. Bangladesh is quickly picking up economically resulting in improved lifestyles for its peoples, improved infrastructure, better healthcare, and a safer environment for all.

Bengalis’ staple foods are rice, dhal and curry.  The city offers a wide range of restaurants and supermarkets, however, and there is a large variety of Western and Asian foods available.  From burgers to sushi – and everything in between, there is something for everyone.
